Hey friends,
I'm all for a grandiose motivational quote, but you know what's interesting?
You could flip many of them, and they'd still make sense.
Take the classic, "Don’t just stand there, do something."
Or all those sayings about starting:
The perfect time and opportunity will never come. Start now.
A year from now, you’ll wish you had started today.
Your dreams can come true if you have the courage to start.
These are great, but sometimes, stopping is just as powerful.
Try swapping “start” for “stop” in those lines:
The perfect time and opportunity will never come. Stop now.
A year from now, you’ll wish you had stopped today.
Your dreams can come true if you have the courage to stop.
They all work.
If you’re struggling to start something, sometimes the solution is to stop doing something else.
As I wrap up university and step into the next chapter of life, I'm looking forward to refining where I put my time and energy.
It's tempting to keep saying yes to everything, add on some more commitments, but sometimes it's best to stop certain things to make room for what matters.
Full-time work will bring its own set of challenges, but I’m excited to focus on fewer, but more meaningful commitments.
What's something you'd like to stop to make room for you to thrive?

p.s. this had me shook, I guessed it!
🤔 One thought on the contrary for you
While stopping can benefit some us, others struggle to make a start.
How often have you told yourself, "not today," and put off that task you've been meaning to get to?
Finishing that report, organising your inbox, starting on a work task that’s been hanging over your head.
The thought of starting something can feel overwhelming, especially when it's something we’ve been avoiding for a while.
The funny thing is, once we push through that initial resistance, things tend to shift.
The anxiety around starting fades, and we realise it wasn’t as impossible as it seemed.
Or maybe we find a new way to approach it that fits where we are now.
What’s that thing you’ve been putting off because it feels too daunting?
What if you just...did it?
✍🏻 Quote of the week
"Wanting to be happy and feel loved and have a great job means nothing—we all want that. Knowing what you’re willing to give up for those things means everything—it determines who you are."
